This multi-camera adapter board is designed for Raspberry pi ZERO and allows you connect two 5MP or 8MP or 12MP cameras to Pi Zero. Only one of the two cameras can be activated at a time, and they are working in alternate ways. We build a simple software that can run two cameras and make it looks like working at the same time. But the drawback is the frame rate, and resolution will be fairly low, which may be mainly useful for surveillance.
Please note that the Raspberry Pi multi-camera adapter board is a nascent product that may have some stability issues and limitations because of the cable’s signal integrity and RPi's closed source video core libraries, so your project may get some risks. This version supports the 8MP Pi camera board. And it also can be used for other Raspberry Pi boards with minor software modifications.
When you use a DSI display together with this adapter, you will encounter the issue of I2C conflicts. We recommend you use HDMI displays or run headless when using this adapter.
The Arducam Multi-camera adapters ONLY support 3 kinds of camera modules by default:
ALL other MIPI camera modules intended to be used with Arducam multi-camera adapters needs extra customization. Extra fees may occur.
If you need the cameras to run at a certain resolution or framerates, please request customization. Extra fees may occur.
Introduction – What stops you from using dual cameras on the Raspberry Pi? Many of the Raspberry Pi users may notice that there is only one camera slot on the board. Actually, the processors on the latest Raspberry Pi models, like the Pi 3 and Pi 4, offer support for two cameras, but only one […]
The natural world abounds with self-organizing collectives, where large numbers of relatively simple agents use local interactions to produce impressive global behaviors. Well-known examples include social insect colonies, bird flocks, and fish schools. Mathematicians and engineers have strived to understand the mapping from local interactions onto global behaviors and vice versa in a quest to […]
