Raspberry 5Mp M12 70° lens not any more available from uctronics; link broken

Hi,

I’m interested in trying various field of views with your 5Mp M12 module. But it seems that Uctronics does not anymore provide the 70 degrees (H-FOV) lens.

Also in your lens shading calibration page (https://www.arducam.com/docs/cameras-for-raspberry-pi/native-raspberry-pi-cameras/lens-shading-calibration/) the references of the lens are not indicated in front of each correction file.

So:

  • Could you tell me if the 70 degrees is not anymore stocked nor supported?
  • if not, there is some corrections proposed for an 80 degrees H-FOV lens but I can't find the reference.
  • To summarize how can I get a lens with 70° HFOV or more with the right parameters for the lens shading correction.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

Best regards.

Hello,

I am sorry but could you please let me know which link is broken? I will get in touch with them to figure out whether this is fix-able.

By the way, I’ve found one on their website: https://www.uctronics.com/m27280m07s.html

Is this one what you are looking for?

Hello,

Link for buying is missing on this page: https://www.arducam.com/product/arducam-70-degree-1-2-5-m12-mount-with-lens-adapter-for-raspberry-pi-high-quality-camera/

And yes your link is better because I need a lens for the 5Mp version.

Now I need the lens shading parameters for this lens on raspivid.

Thanks

BR

Well, thank you for letting us know that the link is broken.

Firstly, the link you are pointing to is a lens that produces 70° on the Raspberry Pi high quality camera, and it will result in a smaller angle on a 5MP OV5647 camera. On the other hand, the link I’ve listed is tested for the 5MP/8MP Pi camera module.

Secondly, currently we are unable to do that on raspivid because that will require a change in the source code of raspivid, which is a ton of extra works. If you need that in an urgent way, we can offer some instructions for you to try that yourself.

Yes please, I would like the instructions to embed lens shading corrections in raspivid.

Hello,

It should be basically the same as how you do that with raspistill, but instead of modifying the RaspiStill.c file, the RaspiVid.c file will be modified. You can still refer to https://www.arducam.com/docs/cameras-for-raspberry-pi/native-raspberry-pi-cameras/lens-shading-calibration/

and do what we’ve done for the Raspistill to the Raspivid. Thanks for your patience with us.
