OV9821 MIPI camera with strobe output for LED control

Hi,

I’m building a camera design using the Arducam OV9821 MIPI camera module and looking to add strobe support for controlling illumination LEDs. I’ve noticed that the current board UC-599 does not have strobe output while previous of carrying the OV9821 did have strobe out. What is the reason for that and any chance I can get an OV9821 on a board with strove out?

Thanks!

Hi,

For UC599, the sensor does not elicit this strobe signal, so our circuit does not elicit this signal to the user. We recommend you to use UC-580, which support strobe signal output.

Thanks a lot for your answer. Do you have an offering with OV9821 on a UC-580 board with the M12 lens mount?

Otherwise (much less desirable), do you think this product can be a good alternative: https://www.arducam.com/product/arducam-ov2311-mipi-2mp-global-shutter-camera-module-for-raspberry-pi-noir/

The strobe pin, does it always generate a pulse aligned with the exposure or do we need to configure it to do that and in this case does your software support it?

The strobe pin, does it provide the pulse synch with the exposure all the time or does it require software configuration? In which case, does the software support it?

Thanks!

And, do you have a guide how to configure software registers so it outputs the strobe signal?

Thanks!

Hello,

Sorry for my late reply.

For the UC580 it does not support change the lens. You can contact our sales for custom.

For stereo signal, you can configure the position and width by adjusting related registers.
